Hello, I'm Daniela Gonzalez, a junior at Yorktown High School. I have been a part of the LLT (Latinas Leading Tomorrow) core program since my freshman year. I joined LLT because I wanted to find a place where I felt like I belonged, especially since I was starting high school feeling a bit lost. Now, in my junior year, I am incredibly grateful to have this organization in my life because it has truly changed my life.Latinas Leading Tomorrow has not only given me my closest friendships and important relationships, but it has also made me feel proud of where I come from. They have completely changed my perspective on being a Latina and how important it is. Throughout the years, I used to be quite shy and reserved, but LLT has taught me to be more outgoing and true to myself. I have developed numerous relationships with amazing individuals and have been presented with incredible opportunities.Thanks to LLT, I have learned so many new things, such as the importance of community, learning to be a good leader, and taking pride in my heritage. I thoroughly enjoy every single LLT meeting at my school and always look forward to them. Additionally, I love participating in LLT activities outside of school. I firmly believe that Latinas Leading Tomorrow will continue to positively impact the lives of many girls.
