The work Cambodian Children's Fund does for the Stung Meanchey community is truly incredible. The families living in this area survive in extreme poverty, but, through CCF, have access to clean water, housing, reliable food, and good education. There are a lot of non profits in Cambodia, but this is one that truly makes a difference at the ground level.

From a volunteer's standpoint, it is also a well-structured organization. The volunteer team is helpful, the employees are friendly, and everyone is eager to share their culture with you. As long as you're open-minded and ready for new experiences, it's easy to integrate into the Phnom Penh lifestyle. Further, volunteering itself is extremely rewarding. My work was mostly in the English program in the primary school. In spite of their tough lives at home, the students have such beautiful, vibrant personalities and it's impossible not to look forward to teaching them every day. They are excited to learn and practice their English with you; not to mention, they'll teach you a little Khmer while you're at it!

Working with CCF is a unique experience that I would highly recommend for anyone already familiar with Cambodia and looking to make a personal and positive impact.
