Our middle school class read Refugee by Alan Gratz and I have had Madi come in to talk to them about her humanitarian work, and what it means to be a refugee. She is excellent with the kids! The students connect to her enthusiasm and expertise wonderfully - walking away more informed and compassionate about the dire situations that people find themselves in. She focuses on what is important and helps them understand how important dignity is. They love it when she visits!
