The Environmental Club at Truman College has been hosting cleanup events twice a year at Foster Ave beach or Montrose Ave beach for almost 10 years, and teaming up with the Chicago Sierra Club at Montrose Beach in recent years. Alliance for the Great Lakes has given its full support to these Adopt-a-Beach cleanup events by providing marketing materials and the resources that we need to host the events efficiently and effectively. Our students and community volunteers continue to be amazed at how a seemingly small portion of their time and effort can be a significant contribution to maintaining our beaches and a huge benefit to those who use them.
