I've been volunteering with AWLA for five years, and none of my volunteer "jobs" give me greater pleasure, nor do I think any of my jobs -- professional or volunteer -- have ever given me a greater sense of purpose and of contributing, making a difference. I love that we not only help animals (which is the most important), but we also really help people, and we help keep them with their animals. The partnerships forged with other community service organizations have led to wonderful opportunities to change people's lives, and the lives of their pets. Every AWLA employee cares deeply about animals and about service. It is a very special place, and it makes me happy to help them achieve the tremendous goals they set.
