I have volunteered with a number of shelters and I have never seen one as committed to holistic animal care. The dedicated volunteer community allows AWLA to exponentially expand its ability to take in animals so that it can reach as many pets in need as possible. AWLA prioritizes keeping people with their pets, allowing for shame-free surrenders when necessary and making every effort to reconnect pets with owners. Sometimes this includes providing food, collars or even animal care. The staff are unified in their mission, connecting people and pets throughout the community. We’re very fortunate to have this local treasure!
