Over the past year, my appreciation of Grist's reporting has diminished to the point where I stopped subscribing to the newsletter. I still check the website occasionally for articles that may be of interest. However, it bothers me that many of the articles I read are somewhat spiteful of other viewpoints. Though that many be a good way to appease hardcore fans, it doesn't help bring burgeoning environmentalists into the fold. It also reflects the "anti" characterization that society is giving to environmentalists today. While we do need to remain strong and keep fighting for the environment, we also need to be careful to not create divisions between environmentalists and people who can help us (e.g. people interested in social justice, politicians, etc.).

Review for Grist Magazine, Inc., Seattle, WA, USA
Grist is a great publication that provides daily information on a HUGE variety of environmental topics. On top of all the work they do researching and writing informative articles, they maintain a positive outlook that gives readers hope and inspires them to continue working toward a clean, healthy environment that benefits the planet and all the people on it.
