I am a registered nurse with cardiac critical care experience, and i have been a volunteer with Simon's Heart for over 10 years. My first experience with Simon's Heart was at a free heart screening at my kid's high school in 2012. I signed up to volunteer as a nurse and at the last minute brought 2 of my 3 kids to be screened since they had open slots. I did not sign them up initially when I signed up to volunteer.

Surprisingly, my daughter was found to have a heart condition that day. After further evaluation, she had a successful cardiac ablation at CHOP. That was over 10 years ago. She is now 25 years old!

Simon's heart is run by amazing people and many wonderful volunteers that embody their mission statement. "To create and advance innovative and evidence-based programs, policies, and research that prevent sudden cardiac arrest and death in children, teens, and young adults"

It is wonderful to be a part of the free heart screenings that Simons heart provides and even more wonderful to see children being engaged in learning CPR and how to use an AED!!!
