This March while surfing with my family in Nicaragua I suffered a spinal cord injury. I was rescued by my children and spent the night on a remote island until my wife was able to get me a flight to the mainland. I had surgery in Managua to decompress my spinal cord but never awoke. Amie was told I needed to get to Canada asap. I was flown to Vancouver and was in a coma. I had a bunch of surgeries. They fused my c2-c7 and gave me a tracheotomy. I was told I was c4 A and probably not getting off a vent. I worked my butt off and even made them put me in a manual chair. Although I still have no feeling from shoulder down. I had a nerve transfer surgery in September and in 10 months to 2 years will hopefully be able to move my fingers. I was told by my roommate at gf strong that high 5 organization helped him in the early days and kept him in sports. I am a ski guide and red seal carpenter. I have spent the past 20 years living in the mountains and surfing in the tropics. My drive and dream is to continue to live life and play hard. High 5 has helped me do this by giving me the opportunity to buy adaptive equipment to do so.
Thank you
