Almost 4 years ago, I began my search for a large adult dog. I have an autoimmune disease that leaves me weak and tired many days. My husband was going to a new job on the night shift and did not want to leave me alone.

I have been part of the rescue world for many years and knew adopting was the only choice for me. I found New Beginnings Shepherd Rescue and my soon to be fur pal, Maverick, in January 2021.

They were incredibly helpful and very responsive to my inquires and questions. The application process was smooth, and they worked with me to arrange to meet with Maverick.

Though I was pretty sure he was the dog I wanted, it was set the moment he saw me and ran straight to me! We bonded immediately, and he hasn't left my side since!

Julie and the others at thia rescue and kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. I recommend them regularly to anyone looking for a larger dog and especially a Greman Shepherd.

I will be looking for another pup in the near future, and they will definitely be my first choice!
