As a Volunteer Coordinator with OCF, I truly got to see how much the founders and the rest of the team care about making an impact. I got to hear and see so many that were affected by Oral Cancer through OCF. Not only does OCF raise funds for research and provide hundreds of thousands of free oral cancer screenings all over the US, they provide a community for current patients. Having lost a family member to cancer, I know how tough it is for patients suffering from cancer on so many levels. There is physical pain and discomfort along with the mental and emotional toll. Providing a voice and community to these patients is important to create awareness on newer therapies and sharing of burdens.

This cause has become even more dear to my heart through the event I helped host with OCF. I was able to share with hundreds of passerby tourists and local San Franciscans the cause and prevention of Oral Cancer Screenings. Thank you OCF for helping make raise awareness and participate in making a difference. While we may not have answers today, through charities and nonprofits like OCF, I know we can create change for the future.
