I have been a supporter of Friendship Bridge for a year now. Their nonprofit stood out to me because of their micro credit loan program to women in Guatemala, as well as their Health for Life program to women throughout the country. These micro credit loans help women change their lives by not only offering indigenous women the money they need to start a business, but also teaching them how to effectively manage their businesses by teaching technical and advanced business skills to help them be successful for the long term. I was also impressed that Friendship Bridge also offers women much needed healthcare services with mobile clinics to the villages of rural and indigenous women offering diabetes, hypertension, etc. screenings and medical care, as well as education they would not otherwise receive. Friendship Bridge is a fast growing nonprofit that invests in humanity in a daily hardworking, hands-on way to the indigenous women of Guatemala, and I have decided wholeheartedly to support them so that this much needed nonprofit will continue to grow strong into the future.
