Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region and Free2Luv came together to offer a 4-week series to our mentees, mentors and waitlisted families! Free2Luv provided proper training to ensure that our staff were prepared to facilitate our workshops. We were provided speaking notes, talking points, and a detailed explanation of the objective of each page. Free2Luv staff was amazingly supportive and optimistic, their mission aligned so perfectly with ours and we cannot wait to partner with them again!

BBBSCR works work at-risk populations- supporting families who comes from diverse backgrounds. The youth of these families were able to take a moment with their Big or P/G and tune in to how they felt at the end of the week throughout our workshop. It took time for the kids to feel comfortable to share, being reminded that we were providing a safe space where anyone could share was helpful for them. With the right encouragement and gentle push from their mentors, our kids began to open right up.

It was quite beautiful to see the group develop over just 4-weeks. Our workshop became a space where the room was filled with laughter, comfortable silence, and empowering moments of vulnerability. We cannot thank Free2Luv enough for this experience! Our kids LOVED it and we hope to have a larger group for the next workshop!
