I became familiar with the OCF the hard way when I was diagnosed with Stage IV A squamous cell carcinoma in my lymph nodes in 2012. The support and the information that was provided by the foundation and its staff was a big part of my winning the battle to beat the beast that is Oral Cancer.
Along with my faith in God, the love of my family and friends, and the experience of my doctors, the stories shared by other survivors prepared me for the fight and gave me the hope and confidence to get through it. I am one of the lucky ones and I support everything the OCF does to continue to raise awareness and educate the public about this horrific disease.
