I have been a pet bird owner for over half my life. Really they’re not pet birds their family members and I love world WPT because they give us tips on how to enrich our birds lives, as well as ours along with them. They also worked very hard with other organizations to protect the world’s parrots from all the dangers that befall them.
Some things I love to do with my lorikeet is look at the gallery photos and play the parrot calls for her then she’ll whistle them back and we’ll practice them and she learns them and it’s a lot of fun.
I also learned from the site about what herbs and plants she could eat so I keep rosemary and basil at home for her to forage in.
I feel good about donating on a regular basis to WPT because I know the funds will be put to a good use and it’s something I believe in.
I also buy yearly gifts for my family from their site, calendars, pins. It’s a fun way to support them and the calendars are beautiful.
The site is wonderful resource for learning about the parrots of the world, it has the information you need to see the endangered rankings, population in the wild, habitats- just a wonderful educational resource.
I can get so lost in looking at species!
It’s a great organization!
