Review for LAST CHANCE FOREVER, San Antonio, TX, USA
I have worked with Last Chance Forever as a volunteer since the mid-1980s. In that time, I have seen tremendous attitude and knowledge shifts about birds of prey by audience members who have grown up with our programs in their schools and libraries, as well as in larger public venues. For over 15 years I have been going into the main rehabilitation center to help feed and heal raptors week in and week out. Their President and chief veterinarian, Dr. Hill, has done amazing surgeries to restore flight and functionality. From giving orphaned youngsters a second chance with minimal human contact to avoid imprinting, to getting injured eagles, oil-soaked owls, and endangered species back into the wild, the attention to detail in all aspects of rehabilitation work, including housing, diet, veterinary care, physical therapy, and readiness testing is amazing. This is an organization that has earned its sterling reputation with over 40 years of deep knowledge and benefit to wildlife.
