I consider it my great fortune that I was introduced to His Holiness Swami Vidyadhishananda and the organisation SELF. I was talking to Hetal , who is an initiate, about the power of Mantras and my interest to delve deeper into it. She directed me to the Hansavedas website and introduced me to Gurudev. So thankful for that. That was my lucky day about 3 years ago. I stumbled upon a wealth of knowledge and practices on the website that continue to enrich my spiritual practices every day. I feel blessed that I was formally initiated into Kriya mantra this September. Being in the silent retreat was such a divine experience. Gurudev’s attention to every detail in everything is so inspiring. His Holiness takes personal interest in everyone of the initiates and takes them and their families under his wings. Such a comfort to know that you are always under his able guidance and protection.

The warmth and care with which I was received and taken care of during my first visit to Santa Barbara in March of last year by Gurudev, Sister and all the members of the organisation was so touching. I felt like I was returning back HOME, though I was meeting them all for the first time.

In my experience with the organisation, I have seen that utmost importance is given to integrity and transparency in its affairs. It upholds its mission of spreading and preserving the ancient Vedic wisdom. Getting access to the Hansavedas website allows an aspirant to avail of so many lectures, pranayama practices and vinyasa kramas. His Holiness Swami Vidyadhishananda explains the most complex concepts of Vedanta and Sankhya philosophy in a way that can be understood by all. There are many guided pranayama and Vinyasa Krama practices by Sister Girija. In a nutshell, the website is an inexhaustible resource of knowledge, with additional materials being added regularly.
