My family has been homeless on the islands for several years. This program has helped to make our lives so much more comfortable and secure. I am a single mom and work full time but with the high cost of rent and food, I just cant make it in a house.
When Magin and Cliff came to my tent along the beach area we live I was shocked. Someone just comes up and asked if I had children and if they could give me hygiene and food for nothing. They would continue to return and month after month just help with our needs and check on us. My children would not have school supplies, new shoes or toys if it wasnt for these two who come all the time.
Some day I do hope things change, but intil that day comes I am so grateful to have these two dedicated people in my life for my childrens sake.
With Christmas coming soon, I know that they will once again be the Santa I can not for my kids. I know that we will have a holiday meal and my kids will have a fun holiday break when school is out because of the support we get from Project Hawai’i, Inc.
Mahalo to those who care enough to donate and be the support needed where I fall short. And thank you to Cliff and Magin for being there and not making us feel compelled to give back or make a fuss over our lack of ability. Love these two so much. They are part of our little ohana when no one else is there.
