This charity is dear to my heart. I was born with a cleft palate and lip. My Mother couldn't take care of me because I needed specialty care at that time. I was in foster care for 3 months. I was bullied and made fun of by other children. They made fun of how I looked and my speech. It had always left a lasting impression on me. "Children are children's worst enemies". That's a quote from my pediatric nursing instructor. I got my RN, married and had 2 children. Both born normal. I'll soon be 76 years old. That many years ago they surely didn't have the expertise that they have now. No child should ever have to endure what I experienced. Those feelings still haunt me to this day.
