I spent two weeks volunteering for Deep Griha in September 2023. I learnt a lot from this experience. I was amazed by the amount of projects that the organisation is working on as a local NGO. How they were constantly being revisited and improved to better cater the community. The organisation is very well structured with each worker deeply invested in their work.
I cannot forget to mention how embedded the centres are within the communities, most of the social workers have a deep connection with the members of the community which almost creates this atmosphere of a social hub.
As of my stay, I was warmly welcomed in the organisation, the staff accompanied me and did their very best at getting me to experience all the different centres and projects.
My objective was to help with improving the income generation programme which aimed to increase women's income basis by marketing their skills, I would like to thank Maya for her help and guidance in this project.

Overall, this organisation convinced me that there is some true work being done on the field to alleviate poverty and empower members of the community. I would recommend any volunteer from around the world to come and experience this with their own eyes.

P.S I would like to give a special thanks to Ms. Onawale for her expertise and mentoring during my stay and all the staff including the doctors and all the women who worked on helping the community .
