Review for African Library Project, Mount Royal, NJ, USA
Hello, I am Sarfaraz ShaikMohammad, a student in 11th-grade at Oak Park High School with a love for books and spreading awareness about negative situations. There are lots of not so good situations around the world, but the one that really connects with me is people who don’t have access to books in general. Books have always been a big part of my life and I want other people to experience what I experienced too.
The African Library Program (ALP for short) is a great way to spread the experience of helping people to have access to books. ALP program collect books across the world and send them to schools in Africa that need libraries or even just books so that they can have a proper education and have the ability to enjoy reading.
This was my third book drive and it was a very fun and interesting experience, the ability to help people out is something that I am proud of. While this did take a little while to complete, it was really worth it. Going around to different libraries and trying to find enough books to meet the quota and and packing them in boxes is something that I will never forget.
The reason why I joined this program is so that I could help out with some of the world’s most overlooked problems. Helping children read or even enjoy books is an amazing thing to support. Although I couldn’t have done it without the help of the adults that organized this and Mrs. Sunitha Boppudi, It was an amazing experience to contributed to this project.
To sum this all up, this program’s goal is to help the people around you as best as you can. People are supported by others in their daily lives, so why not go one step further and help lots of people. I have to thank ALP for giving me this opportunity to help the world, so thank you ALP!!!
