Review for TOWN CATS INC, Berlin, MD, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I had 2 tuxedo cats die 47 days apart. One was 17 and the other was 15 years old. They were both females. I really wanted to get another female tuxedo cat. All I could find to adopt were males. I contacted Town Cats and they had 3 male tuxedo cats. I was sent photos of them. Two were brothers and had to be adopted together. For various reasons I couldn't adopt 2 cats. The other "tuxie" was named Ripley. In the photo he was so cute! He also had a compelling story.........He was born into a colony on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. He and his brother were rescued by a Town Cats volunteer who happened to be visiting that area and was notified about the cats. When Ripley and his brother were taken to a vet to get vaccinated Ripley had an undiagnosed ear infection. When he got the distemper vaccine he actually got distemper because his immune system was weakened by the ear infection. When I went to Blue Frog Cat Sanctuary to meet Ripley he was still being treated for distemper, although he looked very healthy to me. I was told he had been quite sick and had to be isolated from other cats. The sanctuary actually has a van where cats can be cared for in isolation!
When I met Ripley, it was love at first sight! He let me pick him up and his sweetness was palpable! I knew I wanted to adopt him, however, he needed to finish a medication he was on. I was able to visit him at the sanctuary so we could start bonding with each other. On March 18th 2023 I was able to bring him home. I am happy to say he is a joyful kitty filled with healthy energy and lots of love! He loves to play with his toys and cuddle with me. I am so grateful to Town Cats for bringing Ripley into my life and me into his life! I kept the name "Ripley" because he is a "Believe It Or Not" kind of cat!!!
