Review for Snowbird Outfitters Inc, Andrews, NC, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I went to SWO with the expectation of a typical teenager going to church camp would. I thought for sure that they would try to shove religion down my throat and try to point out all of my flaws. As soon as I got there, I knew it was not like that. They greeted us with cheers and smiles and high fives and introductions. It was one of the most intense, fun, and life-changing weeks of my life. The counselors did everything they could to relate to us and help us with whatever we needed. They did that and they did more than that. They were there for us when we needed them and they prayed for us and prayed over us. I still personally talk to two of the counselors and I stay in touch with a majority of them. After I left that week, I had learned more about myself than I ever thought I would. It is something that I would recommend to as many people as I possibly could. It is one of those experiences that you will remember for the rest of your life.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Like I have already said, my life was changed completely. One of the sessions we learned about was a session on Islam. I learned things I never learned about that particular religion. That particular session and the one on evolution really changed my views around. People don't understand half the things that the "religions" stand for, but they judge them based on what they see. We had an all girls session that taught us about modesty that I think every girl should see. It said that modest was hottest.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

I honestly would not change a thing about it. Well, I take that back. I would make it longer, but that is literally about it.

Role:  Client Served & My entire life was changed in one week. We talked to elderly people in a nursing home. We did outdoor activities that pushed us outside of our comfort zones.
