I can't say enough about Irondog K9 International and the fantastic work they are doing. My only hope is, the supporters of this non-profit organization understand how much they mean to Handlers all over the country. Without them or Charlie and Mitzi of Irondog, many of us (like myself) never would have had the opportunity to realize our career goals.
When my Sheriff asked me if I was interested in a K9, I said yes without hesitation. Thanks to Irondog K9
international and their supporters, they were offering a K9 as a donation. My department was just getting a K9 department off the ground, and the opportunity to build it and add such an important asset would not have been possible without them.
K9 Cezar, a 2 year old chocolate lab/German shorthair pointer, explosive and gun sniffing machine, became my best friend instantly. He is a mischievous, energetic dog that still thinks he is a puppy; until it is time to work and its all business. Cezar's duty assignment is unique in the fact that I am an SRO for our local school district. Cezar's work day is spent roaming the halls of 9 buildings K-12. He is always working to keep the kids safe and putting smiles on the kids faces with his puppy like antics.
None of this would have ever been possible without Irondog K9 International. Their service and continued support have been unbelievable. Not only did that donate a K9 completely, but they provided my unit with K9 first aid kits, a welcome goodie bag and have truly became part of our family.
