Almost a year ago, I found the Organization for Autism Research when searching for ways to help explain my younger son's autism to my older, neurotypical son. I was completely blown away by how helpful OAR's sibling support resources are! They changed my family's lives more than I can possibly explain in words.

It can be very hard to be a parent of an autistic and neurotypical child. They both need different care, love, and support from me and I sometimes feel like I'm never able to give either of them 100%. I was worried that my older son would come to resent his younger brother because he needed more attention from us and I didn't know how to talk about it with him in a way he would understand.

OAR's siblings' guidebooks made me feel empowered and helped my older son become more understanding about his brother's autism. I loved that the kid's guidebook was fun, bright, and interactive! It made it so easy to engage with and really helped my son become excited to learn all about autism and how special his little brother is.

These resources really have been life-changing! I cannot express how grateful I am to OAR. They are the first resource that I recommend to families I meet who have an autistic child!
