Review for The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Washington, DC, USA

Rating: 4 stars

An award is a testimony of attaining an unusual feat in a pursuit. Therefore, becoming or being selected to become a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars testifies that the recipient is not a chip of business as usual. The recipient must have worked harder, and if not a harder input, must have concentrated and focused on the set goals. The award opens a world of opportunities for the recipient. For instance, employers are more often than not happy to have a prospective staff whose diligence in working on goals is attested to through awards won. The first added value I experienced after my award was announced was a reinforcement of self-confidence that I would have a brilliant light at the end of the dark tunnel. The new life strengthened the urge to work hard, culminating in having brilliant results course after course. In addition, adding the NSCS award to my resume made me walk in unusually to interviews with my head raised to answer interviewers' questions. Most interviewers were generous to commend such a feat and expressed their confidence that attitude gives a promise to scoring goals. Also, winning awards like NSCS puts you on your toes in your future endeavors. The award defines you differently and puts you on a cautious pedestal to justify your status whenever challenged. At no time will an award winner wouldn't work to present to the world that the award did not miss the road to the recipient. By that, I mean that the people who gave the award didn't commit a judgment error in selecting that awardee. The challenges, when surmounted, often turn into positive public relations for the organization and thus make the organization more popular.
Therefore, the advantages of an award may symbiotically rub on the organization and the recipient. The recipient gains new recognition while the organization gains a new ambassador and a foot-popularity winning soldier. Similarly, as the awardee is striving not to let the organization down, so must the organization keep striving to maintain the highest standard possible to promote the quality of the award. For instance, one of the observations that nearly discredited my award when it was announced was the channel the announcement passed through. At that time, the NSCS was poorly structured and unorganized, and it wasn't easy to show the award paper to people. The paper format, quality, and language made some people wonder if the award came from a serious organization. It took some of my people some research to believe the award was worth celebrating. Hence, both the organization and the recipients must continue to develop quality and ensure that they are working to ensure that the award becomes a house built on a hill that cannot be hidden.
