I volunteer for Sonrise as a side walker. My main job is to make sure the kiddo stays safe and be ready to catch him or her if necessary:) I love this job! It is such a privilege working with these young folks. What a great feeling it is to see their beautiful smiles and know they are having so much fun. As many of our volunteers have said, we get as much out of this as the kids do. (Maybe more!)
This organization is so well run. There are many systems in place to keep the riders safe. I truly wish there were more places like this for special needs kids.
