Review for Snowbird Outfitters Inc, Andrews, NC, USA
I first visited Snowbird when during my junior year of college. During that visit I heard the Word of God preached faithfully and boldly. Listening to the someone preach systematically through a passage of scripture unlocked for me how to study the Bible personally which in turn profoundly affected my relationship with the Lord and the course of my life.
The next time I returned to Snowbird was to serve for the summer as a camp counselor for middle and high school students. This early mornings and late nights- guiding white water trips and belaying for a climbing tower. It involved worship services and share groups, but most of all it involved building relationships. I learned about relational ministry. Not just by giving but by receiving. This ministry is structured like a waterfall, with discipleship happening from the top down. Everyone is being invested in and everyone is investing in someone else...and all of the investing was built upon the foundation of the gospel.
I am now a stay at home mom. But living here in Andrews, I continue to watch this ministry change lives....both students coming in and staff members as well. With so many students and staff pouring in from all over the country, it would be easy for Snowbird to be consumed with serving and ministering to these individuals and neglect its hometown community. This is not the case. Many many Snowbird employees over the year have served in the school system as subs and coaches. Local events are hosted, such as an annual wild game supper. Partial and full income-based scholarships are available for local students to attend a week of summer camp. Also the Snowbird Missions and Outreach takes students each week of the summer to assist families in need with home maintenance- fixing a roof, re-painting an exterior, etc....
Snowbird is Christ-centered, built on the foundation of the word of God, it is a ministry of integrity and it is changing people's lives.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
This ministry has, through the teaching of the Word of God, profoundly impacted my personal relationship with Christ, my marriage, my understanding of parenting, and how I relate to others.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Add a family retreat to the schedule. I've heard married couples testify that the marriage retreat saved their marriage from the brink of divorce. I've watched parents hungry for biblical wisdom, soak up parenting instruction. I don't know how it would work logistically, but i think parents would jump at the opportunity to share the experience with their families together...instead of just the kids coming with their youth group, parents coming to the couples retreat, etc.
