I am a social worker working in the treasure coast area with children who have been removed/sheltered from their parents/legal caregivers and placed with either relatives or in foster care. I have connected numerous families with Hands and Feet and have found it to be a much needed resource in all communities. One family of a large sibling set who went into care with only the clothes on their backs, received all their basic needs met by Hands and Feet. After I requested sizes and needs and sent the referral in, I was lucky enough to be at the home, when Kristen arrived with a mini van packed full of their stuff. The children's faces lit up as they each helped with bringing the numerous duffle bags into the home. At one point one of the siblings inquired "There's more??" As he was handed a large oversized duffle bag packed full of clothing. I honestly lost track of how many oversized duffle bags were brought for the sibling group. I am so so grateful to your agency and how quickly Hands and Feet delivers to the children in the community. Kristen apologized to them for "taking so long because she had difficulty finding larger sizes." Kristen delivered these numerous oversized duffle bags within a week that I sent the referral in, mind you, this is a LARGE sibling group. We hugged each other, I thanked her, the children thanked her and she went on her way. Thank you for all you do.
