Review for Alexandria Singers, Alexandria, VA, USA
This group, which apparently has been around since the mid-1970s, puts on some great performances, mostly popular songs and show tunes.. Dozens of singers onstage sing some great songs accompanied by piano and occasionally by other musical instruments. They also have some solo, duet and small group acts. From time to time, they join forces with other area groups for collaborative performances.
I have been attending their performances for about a decade and highly recommend the group.
They have public performances in June and in December each year and also do some special events and pop-up performances at festivals. Prices are reasonable and they even had a “pay what you can” series this year (2023).
I just wish they will bring back their cabarets, which they used to present each February but apparently stopped for reasons unrelated to the pandemic. The cabarets are fun and I hope they will resume.
Thank you!

Thank you, Gil!! The Cabaret variety show is one of our absolute favorites!! It started as a pretty significant fundraiser but since returning to in-person performances venue pricing and availability has made it a bit more difficult to host it as we did in the past. We haven’t given up on the show itself and the Board is always looking to re-work timing or venue needs to relaunch this specific show style. Stay tuned!
