HSMC has THE most amazing, caring, knowledgeable volunteers anywhere. Our Tucker was found wandering the road. The nice person who stopped to pick him up immediately brought him to HSMC because she knew they would see to his needs. HSMC sent him to the local Vet to be neutered, chipped and checked out for diseases - all at no cost to the person who found him. He proved to be heartworm positive so they provided injections - again at no cost. We fostered him until his heartworm treatments were completed and then they allowed us to adopt him. Along the way they gave us a suitably sized crate as well as food and toys and additional medications.
The adoption fee was a very reasonable $150. They have continued with follow-ups to make sure our little boy was doing well and that we were well suited to each other.
Tucker is a terrific dog but it's HSMC that is truly wonderful. They took such good care of Tucker until we were able to make him a part of our family.
