I have proudly worked with the Andrew Goodman Foundation (AGF) for over 6 years. My first experience was as a slow learner in this professional field of civic engagement. The AGF team reached out and offered me training, funding, and resources to help not just get students registered to vote but to get students involved in the civic processes. AGF provided funding and training for student leaders on my campus who were eager to learn and ready to take the lead. I am truly grateful for the support including a platform to do this 'good' work. It was at a conference in New Jersey that David Goodman sat next to me 'on purpose” and said, "I hear you are doing good work in Alabama, I need to introduce you to some of my friends." I couldn't believe he knew my name, truly he couldn't have known my work. But he did. He not only knew my name, he knew my struggles on a Historical Black University Campus and he offered me help and support. Thank you, David Goodman, for introducing me to my some, "Good Trouble. Thank you, Andrew Goodman Foundation, for all you do to help front-line workers like me make sure our students and neighbor's voice are heard.
