18 years. That's how long I have been involved with MenHealing.org. MH is an organization that provides weekends of recovery for men and male identified individuals who have a history of sexual victimization in childhood or as an adult.

My first weekend of facilitating such an event was shocking.....nearly 40 men registered and I helped check them in as they arrived....all ages, all walks of life; one could have passed anyone of them on the street and have no idea that they carried a history of trauma and abuse. And when the weekend unfolded, the courage each man showed as they worked through their trauma, as they revealed themselves to themself and to each other was life changing for them, and for ME!!

I have helped to facilitate nearly half of the 100 weekends the organization has held. I have watched tears and laughter, and the emergence of both power and tenderness in the men who attend; I have watched tight constricted bodies learn to soften, open, and even dance, and I have watched lives open up into joy and connection where there was none before.

The core values of the organization of integrity, relationship, self care, transparency and intentionality has created a beating heart at the center of MH that resonates through the board, the facilitator team, and the volunteers, and is transmitted to the men who join us as a safe place to come for healing.

MH has forever changed me and the lives of several thousand men. My affiliation with MH has deepened my capacity as a Psychologist in profound ways. I can not say enough.....
