Review for Education Matters Africa Foundation, North Haven, CT, USA
Discovering Education Matters Africa Foundation has been the most important highlight of my life. After graduating from high school I wanted to go outside of Zimbabwe to study. I thought everything was going to go easy but it was totally the opposite. I struggled with applying for a year and later decided to take a gap year so that l can focus on applying. I joined the EducationMatters whatsapp group in which updates about scholarships and youth opportunities are posted. Whenever l felt like I needed clarifications I would message them or ask some of the student interns at EducationMatters for help.
Last year they posted an opportunity about studying at Ashoka University. I utilised the information that l was given and quickly applied. I submitted my application on time as they reminded daily about the approaching deadlines. This year, I received a 100% scholarship to study at Ashoka University in India all thanks to the opportunity that I was presented by EducationMatters Africa foundation. If it wasn't for this organisation, I wouldn't have known about the scholarship opportunities and I wouldn't have known about any of those things so I really appreciate the work and effort they put in giving out information to those who need it. I will always be grateful to the foundation. May they keep up the work which is life changing to many youths seeking to better their lives and communities.
