I have been an active volunteer with this organization for close to 10 years. It takes a village to keep the mission of saving and rehoming German Shepherds dogs moving forward. I am very proud to be a member of this village. Every dog that comes into our care is constantly under the watchful eye of volunteers. Every dog is walked every day. And the walking team takes the responsibility of watching the dogs for possible issues very seriously. How is the dog's gait? eating habits? digestive regularity. We are constantly evaluating the health of our dogs. And if it is determined a dog need to see a vet, our team gets an appointment, and the dog sees the vet within a few days. We really are a well-oiled machine. In addition to being a volunteer, I am also a foster (failure) and 3X adopter. The adoption process is straight forward. The village does quality the homes that take our dogs. We want to ensure the dog is going into a home that is a match for that dog's temperament and personality. The counselors take their responsibility very seriously as well, making sure the placement is a match for all involved.
All in all, GSROC is very professional and focused on the best interest of the dogs in their care. If any group deserves recognition, it is this group.
