APOPO is an amazing organisation and as a volunteer (with other charitable experience) who has been involved for several years now, I can honestly say they are one of the best organisations I have ever had the pleasure to work with. I have found APOPO to be well organised as a charity, well run from a governance perspective and the financial and impact reporting is informative, transparent and well presented. The APOPO staff team are highly trained and highly skilled and very respectful to volunteers. APOPO's dedication and achievements deploying animal scent detection techniques to help locate landmines and detect TB is quite incredible. Of course you can't forget to acknowledge the efforts of HeroRATs and HeroDOGs who play a significant role in that too! I am very proud to be associated with APOPO directly and via its partner and UK registered charity APOPO UK in my volunteering capacity.
