My family and I recently adopted from feathered friends forever. I wasn’t sure about the required volunteering because I figured they’d make me work and then I’d end up not being able to adopt. I was wrong! Before we volunteered Danielle took us around and introduced us to every bird. She told us the good and the bad about each one. She showed us what work needed to be done for the day and even though she ended up working in another area she was constantly checking on us. When we were done for the day she announced it was playtime and encouraged us to work with the birds to see which ones would be a good fit. We went out several times and narrowed down to a choice few until we had finally made a decision. I never believed the bird chooses you was a real thing until I saw it first hand and I’m a believer that this is the way adoptions should be. Danielle was patient with us through the entire process and answered all our questions. Even after we adopted she has kept in touch with us. I honestly thought once we had left that would be it but that’s not the way she does things. She is amazing to work with an a wonderful woman with the dedication it takes to do what she does. Thank you Danielle and the staff at feathered friends forever for everything you do for all of the birds and for the people who adopt them. You are one in a million!
