My team member was able to help an elderly Milwaukie resident who lives by herself, and she is not able to walk much due to various illnesses. He was first connected with her after someone from another organization (Ant Farm) reached out asking if he knew of any food pantries in the area that did free food deliveries for seniors. After some investigation, he learned about the Clackamas Service Center who provides free food box deliveries for certain zip codes around Clackamas County. They operate through an online form where participants can request specific food items up to twice a month per family. The Milwaukie resident expressed that she was not very tech savvy and preferred to speak to someone in person. The team member decided to schedule a house visit so that he could assist the client in person and show her how the application works. The client was very thankful that our team member was able to assist her in person since she does not have any family nearby and moved recently to her apartment community. After a little under two weeks, she finally received her food box and was very happy.
