Review for The Atlas Society Ltd., LODI, CA, USA
Back in 1986 (or so) I listened to a speech given by the leader of an objectivist organization at a Philadelphia university. He didn't like libertarians and wasn't receptive to proselytizing to them, even though they were the group most likely to be familiar with Ayn Rand's work and most receptive to her message. Seemed foolish and illogical to write them off, so I was no longer interested in that organization. Then David Kelley got excommunicated for the 'audience crime' (I've invented an Orwellian term) of speaking to libertarians (no doubt there were other issues I'm not aware of) and founded the Institute for Objectivist Studies (IOS), now The Atlas Society, to avoid such nonsense. I then joined IOS because I wanted to support objectivism with out the high school drama ("you can't talk to THEM"). I've been supporting the IOS/Atlas since the early 90s and have been happy with their operation.
