I had the honor to travel and volunteer with Kenya Connect. I am a teacher at one of their partner schools in the US. I was able to experience the incredible programs of this grassroots non-profit. Kenya connect goes above and beyond to serve their learners and greater community. The Kenyan staff are a group of talented, educated, caring and powerful individuals. It was beautiful to watch them interact with the students and how important they are to the students. I was able to help with Library Days, when the staff brings books to schools and the students with library cards can check out books. Without this program the students would not have access to books. I was able to be a part of the borehole opening that will help bring water to the community. The need for water is so great. Kenya Connect's ability to target needs and help provide resources is priceless to this community. They have helped girls stay in school with the creation of wings poa, reusable sanitary pads, that moms in the community sew. The list of how Kenya Connect is contributing to this community goes on and their potential is endless. An amazing organization with great leadership! I look forward to watching them grow and continue to change lives!
