Review for Hearts That Purr Feline Guardians, Tucson, AZ, USA
I have been involved in the animal rescue community for over 30 years, the last 20+ years in Tucson, Arizona. I became familiar with Hearts That Purr Feline Guardians (HTP) while serving as a cat adoption coordinator for another rescue group and became intrigued at their unique and targeted area of expertise.
As I learned more about HTP, met the founder and a number of their volunteers and spent time at their cat “houses,” I was amazed at how well run this nonprofit is. The animals are cared for exceptionally well, the facilities are always clean and sanitized, and the cats seem truly happy! They run free (no cages at HTP) and are allowed to live their lives to the fullest.
The mission of HTP is to allow senior cats to live out their lives in a safe, caring and loving environment. HTP does not focus on “adopting”cats out (even though they do have an adoption program) but rather has a unique “senior to senior” program whereby occasionally a senior cat is placed with a senior person in a mutually beneficial relationship. The guardian program at HTP is a unique way to ensure a beloved cat(s) will be cared for in the event a person can no longer care for them or something happens to their caregiver.
As a cat owner myself, I honestly can’t think of a better organization for elder cats than Hearts That Purr Feline Guardians. My own cats are becoming part of their guardian program. To know that an organization like HTP is there for my animals if I can no longer care for them gives me incredible peace of mind.
