As an educator, I have been following the work of Kenya Connect for over a decade now, and the work this lean grassroots non-profit is able to accomplish is truly phenomenal. They are incredibly responsive to community needs and work with all stakeholders to develop high-impact programs including a mobile library bus that excites young learners in remote villages, tech classes for primary school students brand-new to computing, and an innovative girl-boy (and parent!) empowerment program that builds self-esteem and body awareness and helps prevent sexual abuse and unwanted teen pregnancies. I recently had the opportunity to spend a week volunteering with the AMAZING Kenyan staff and could see first hand how Kenya Connect has become a vital and beloved cornerstone for the community in the Wamunyu region. No wonder everyone else is now looking to them as a model!
