Review for Operation Shoebox, Belleview, FL, USA
I joined Operation Shoebox when I first moved to the Villages in the early 2000's. I wanted to find a volunteer job that would be meaningful and provide a posiitve impact on the community. Operation Shoebox does that and more providing support to our troops throughout the world. My involvement has changed over the years from helping to fold puzzles to go into the 500 packages that are sent each week to raising funds for postage to enable us to ship packages. I now wash and clean golf balls that I offer to golfers for a donation. I've happy that I've raised nearly $26,000 since 2015 from the generosity of village golfers. I also help make ribbon angels that are included in the packages. I love helping this group!
