The institute for Justice is the most effective organization I know of working on individual liberty. They fight in the courts and the press to ensure people are free to work at their preferred occupations, that they can keep what they've earned, and they can speak their mind.

IJ chooses issue areas where the courts can be persuaded that the law is on the side of individual rights, and finds cases that demonstrate the excess of government intrusion so that sympathetic rulings will establish precedents to expand protections of our rights.

Their successes have resulted in fewer restrictions on what jobs people can pursue, more limits on governments seizing property from innocent owners, and people having more ability of people to speak freely without government infringement.
