Review for Institute For Justice, Arlington, VA, USA
I appreciate IJ's willingness and success in defending the least of us against coercive government power. How many people can't afford to fight the government in defending their property rights? Government regulations imposed on existing ownership takes value away, uncompensated. If "the public" demands a restriction on property, the public needs to pay for imposing that restriction. In related property rights, IJ's recent success in Hennepin County (Minnesota) is just the most recent example of defending against uncompensated taking. I don't expect to ever need IJ's assistance because IJ has already succeeded.
