My intro to the Love Your Neighbor Project came during the long and panic-filled pandemic when our band, LovePeace, was invited along with other musicians to bring good vibes for a good cause at a vaccination site that had been set up in a local parking lot. It was a lovely Spring day and while many came for the convenience of getting their shot so close to home, just as many showed up in solidarity or just for some good tunes. Last winter’s LYNP fundraiser was a full-regalia 80s dance-a-thon that exceeded expectations both in terms of community fun and funds raised. And in May, Sea Cliff’s second PorchFest was another huge success, with over 600 people enjoying all-day music from bands of all ages over one square mile on a most glorious day. I was so proud to be part of this event. Love Your Neighbor Project is an infectious and powerful force for good. Time and again they have demonstrated the ability to capture and mobilize the spirit of coming together as one for all. LYNP brings out the best in us as people, and as a village.
