The Tidioute Community Charter School took the online class from Ben Prokolab and his staff about Elk Conservation. They had such a great time that we decided to bring the 4th and 5th grade classes to the center to extend their learning onsite. Ben and his staff were so wonderful teaching the students about wildlife and nature conservation. The students enjoyed the day trip of fun activities, the nature walk and the surround movie of the history of Elk and the center. It was such a great experience for our students that we plan on making this an every other year trip for our 4th and 5th grade students. We highly recommend this program. If you are not able to make the trip the online class is a must on it own. The interactive class kept the children engaged and entertained the whole time.

Mr. Ben Porkolab along with intern Jacob did an online zoom meet with the Tidioute Community Charter school's 4th grade class this past Thursday. The children got to learn about the history of the elk at Benezette and wildlife conservation. Mr. Porkolab has set up a great way to teach children not with just an interactive online meet but also with sending a trunk full of on hands items that went along with the class. Our students were so engaged with the information that Jacob was sharing with them as well as with the items in the trunk. There was also handouts that we printed for the students to continue to learn about the elk once the zoom meet was done. I highly recommend this experience of learning about wildlife conservation and the elk to any elementary class or youth groups. We were so happy with this program that we are adding it to our 4th grade curriculum.
