As the family member of one of MARR's former residents, I am so pleased to see the remarkable change in my brother in law. This was his second chance at rehabilitation and there was a long period of time between the two.
There was a long stretch of time when none of the family knew where he could be found or reached at any given time. When he was around, he seemed to avoid everyone and spent most of his time sleeping or perhaps simply avoiding all of us. He missed so much family time and we missed him. Every member of his family attempted to help him in some way, however, it turned out to be another "him taking advantage of" situation.
Since he entered MARR about 5 years ago, he is so much more involved with all the family and is now enjoying being a great uncle to the new young people in the family. He doesn't pull the "I'll be there" statement and we never hear from him. He is enjoying being employed and earning his keep.
Needless to say, the entire family is so thankful to MARR for breaking through the barrier he had put between feelings he had during his addiction days and his new days of being an involved member of his family.
