Review for National Arbor Day Foundation, Lincoln, NE, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Alright, so first off. BARE ROOT TREES LOOK DEAD SOMETIMES THAT IS WHAT BAREROOTS ARE THEY ARE TREES IN STASIS FOR STORAGE PURPOSES UNTIL THEY CAN BE PLANTED- FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS.

So I started sending the tree groves instead of flowers or bibles to people because doing so not only helps the planet but memorializes the person in a way many people don't think of. They send personalized cards and things to the recipients and I have never not gotten a thank you after sending them in memorium.

I got the Tree Survey around November of last year, and the warning clearly shows when your trees will arrive based on your zone. My zone is marked on there between MAY and JUNE. So I sent them 40 dollars and they sent me updates and welcome letters to their membership along with some non-tree made paper gifts. Card, some letter heads which I desperately needed, bookmarks and just a bunch of stuff that was well worth the 40 dollars already. I completely forgot about the trees.

NOTE: If you do not say you want the trees, or that you don't want the trees when filling out the form they will NOT SEND TREES. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE BOX.

So, today (May 17th) mine arrived in a white ecosafe plastic sealer bag. I open them expecting complete bareroot trees (Which means they are literally in stasis). They where damp and everything inside the bag was damp, it was very messy. But, I got them out and look them over, already have the water waiting to soak them and to my surprise they already have little leaves and shoots on them. Which is absolutely amazing for how short a time they where in shipment.

So long story short, look into bare root and read everything before you order. Read the pamphlets that clearly state that they DO NOT guarantee anything at a certain time and your region and zone are not proper for just any time of year. The 'order for arbor day' is a gift registry and sent out when your ZONE is ready, not when you are ready. The Trees are the important part of this, you are not a customer, you are a donor.
