Review for Educational Pathways International, Incline Village, NV, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Theophilus Henry Ackon is my name and I am a second year medical student at University for Development Studies (UDS), Ghana. I am much honoured to speak about how Educational Pathways International (EPI) has been a blessing to my family and I.
It was impossible to envision the future as bright considering being supported by a parent who single-handedly caters for siblings and a whole family's needs. For me, life in University would not have ended on a sound and peaceful note if I had not been enrolled in such a programme. Despite benefiting from a wide range of support covering not only academics but other basic needs as well, I realized that Educational Pathways International introduced me to a wonderful family. The scholarship has helped me financially in addition to equipping me with key skills and attitudes that I know will help me achieve greater heights in the future.
All these were brought about through the seminars and training sessions organized for us by EPI. Personally, I have been challenged to put in my best efforts in studies in order to make this opportunity beneficial to me and others around me. It is a great relief knowing my siblings will not be changing to low grade schools because of my pursuing higher education.
My passion for becoming a Medical Doctor was birthed at a very early age as my late grandmother used to send me to the hospital during vacations so I can interact with her co-workers. Being surrounded with health problems among members in my family only surged my desire to pursue Medicine so as to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge in order to be of great help to people in dire need of health care in the society.
I find joy and satisfaction in being able to apply what I learn to save a person's life from death or disease. Ultimately, I plan on specializing in the field of cardiology in the near future where I would seek to bring about technology and healthcare methods that would help in battling cardiovascular diseases emerging in the nation. It is my desire and goal to offer humanitarian services to my community, in order to improve their health needs and reduce the risk of infections.
It is very hard to find the right words to express my gratitude but all I would say is thank you EPI scholarship for being the light at the end of the tunnel for me. God bless you.
